SIXTIETH ANNIVERSARY TOUR

THE CHOIR HAVE RETURNED TO PRACTICE FOLLOWING THEIR ANNIVERSARY TOUR TO BELGIUM AND FRANCE.

SIXTY ONE CHORISTERS AND GUESTS VISITED YPRES IN BELGIUM WHERE THE CHOIR SANG FOR THE FOURTH TIME AT THE LAST POST CEREMONY AT THE MENIN GATE, THE CHOIR PRESIDENT PETER FURBER, AND FIRST TENOR SYD PIPER LAID A WREATH ON BEHALF OF THE CHOIR. THE FOLLOWING DAY THE CHOIR GAVE AN AFTERNOON PERFORMANCE AT YPRES CATHEDRAL ( pictured ). A TOUR OF THE AREA SAW THE CHOIR VISIT THE GRAVE OF HEDD WYN, AND THE WELSH MEMORIAL AT LANGEMARK BEFORE SINGING AT TYNE COT CEMETARY WHERE RELATIVES OF CHOIR MEMBERS ARE BURIED. A VISIT TO TALBOT HOUSE WAS ALSO MADE. CELEBRATIONS WERE HELD AT THE OLD BILL PUB WITH A TRADITIONAL PUB SING SONG, AND AT THE KAZAMATTEN BAR IN YPRES WHERE THE CHOIR ENTERTAINED THEMSELVES WITH SOME MEMORABLE COMEDY PERFORMANCES FROM CHOIR MEMBERS.

THE CHOIR THEN MOVED TO MAUBERGE IN FRANCE TO SING AT THE LA CAPPELLE CHEESE AND WINE FESTIVAL. THE CHOIR ENTERTAINED VISITORS TO THE FESTIVAL FROM A STAGE IN THE SHOWGROUND DURING THE AFTERNOON. IN THE EVENING THEY SANG FOR GUESTS AT THE FESTIVALS GALA DINNER
